HYALURONIC LIP FILLER DOCS & FORM

General Information

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are sterile gels consisting of stabilized hyaluronic acid. These dermal filler injections are given to correct facial wrinkles and / or for lip augmentation. Each of these dermal fillers has specific FDA (Food and Drug Administration) indications (i.e. treatment for the nasolabial folds). Use of the products in these areas that were specifically approved by the FDA is considered "on-label" use and use anywhere else on the face or body is considered "off-label" use. Off-label use is not malpractice; it has become quite standard to use these products in an off-label manner in the United States and other countries.

The Procedure

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can smooth out facial folds and wrinkles, add volume to the lips, and contour facial features that have lost their volume and fullness due to aging, sun exposure, illness, etc. Facial rejuvenation can be carried out with minimal complications. The Hyaluronic Pen operates by creating enough pressure externally against the tissue to "push" the hyaluronic acid filler into the dermal layer of your skin without the use of needles. This produces natural appearing volume under wrinkles and folds which are lifted up and smoothed out. The results can often be seen immediately.

Risks & Complications

Before undergoing this procedure, understanding the risks is essential. No procedure is completely risk-free. The following risks may occur, but there may be unforeseen risks and risks that are not included on this list. Some of these risks, if they occur, may necessitate hospitalization, and /or extend outpatient therapy to permit adequate treatment. It has been explained to me that there are certain inherent and potential risks and side effects in any invasive procedure and in this specific instance such risks include but are not limited to: Post-treatment discomfort, swelling, redness, bruising, and discoloration; Post-treatment infection associated with any transcutaneous injection; Allergic reactions; Reactivation of herpes (cold sores); Lumpiness, visible yellow or white patches; Granuloma formation; Localized necrosis and /or sloughing, with scab and / or without scab if blood vessel occlusion occurs; In very rare occasions, if occlusion of the retinal artery occurs, permanent blindness can result.

Is there anyone that cannot be treated?

Dermal Fillers should not be used in patients who have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis, a history of severe allergies, or patients with a history of a compromised immune system. The doctor will ask you about your medical history to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for treatment
